Description of a shoot
I can come to your house or we can meet at a pre-arranged spot. The amount of time we spend together is negotiable and mostly dependent on your schedule and the mood of your child.
It can be as little as 2 hours or as long as 5 hours, since creating successful images depends on many factors. I am quite flexible, and always allow time for any temper tantrums or unforeseen setbacks.
Regarding location: any park or playground near you is usually a good bet. If it is summer and the beach or a lake is close by, that is a great option too. Of course a good "photo op" can present itself at any time, and I will not hesitate to seize the moment.
With this in mind, if we meet at your house, we may end up staying there for a little while before going out.. This is often a good starting point for many reasons, but most importantly,to gain the trust of the children before setting out to a new and possibly unfamiliar location. If they are comfortable with me at their home and realize that I am visiting to make some fun photos, chances are the photos will be much better as a result.
At all costs, I try to avoid the big production of a formal photo shoot. Rather, I become part of a child's day, playing by their side. We like happy, laughing kids! Naturally!
